Summer Reading has officially begun!

Sign Up for Summer Reading

Log into Your Summer Reading Account

Summer Reading is an annual program for all ages at Farmington Community Library (FCL) that encourages our community to connect through a love of reading and stories. Complete the community reading goal, accomplish special missions, and collect points for a chance to win grand prizes!

This year, we are not just celebrating the stories we read, but also the power of telling our own stories! Throughout the Summer Reading Program, we will be sharing and collecting stories from community members of all ages through our Tell Your Story Community Project. Telling your story is one of the Summer Reading missions that you can complete to earn points. Learn how to share your story when you sign up for Summer Reading! At the end of Summer Reading, we will compile all of the story submissions into a physical and digital booklet for the whole community to enjoy.

Summer Reading is generously sponsored by the Farmington Friends of the Library.

How do I participate?

Create an Online Summer Reading Account

The Summer Reading account is where you will officially log your progress. Logging progress online is how points are earned for digital raffle tickets that can be put toward grand prizes. Points can only be earned if progress is logged online in the Summer Reading account.

Registration for Summer Reading opens June1! You can visit this page once registration opens to find the link to login to your Summer Reading account. If you need assistance signing up for an account, library staff can help you at either FCL location!

Read or Listen for 10 Hours

10 hours is our community reading goal for all ages! Don’t forget you can read eBooks or listen to eAudiobooks using Libby, Hoopla, and other digital FCL resources. Access these resources through our eLibrary. Reading out loud with your child counts toward their reading goal!

Complete Missions

Each age group has activity-based missions like “Attend a Library Event” that you can complete to earn more points. You will find the full list of missions for your age group in your online Summer Reading account.

Log Your Progress by July 28

Log the number of hours read and missions completed in your Summer Reading account. The more hours your read and missions you complete, the more points you earn to put toward digital raffle tickets for grand prizes! July 28 is the last day you can log progress and spend points.

Pick up Your Prizes by August 9

All ages receive a free book after signing up, a halfway prize after logging 5 hours, and a finisher prize after completing the community reading goal of 10 hours. Motivated to keep going? You can stop by the Library to pick up a special prize after logging 20 hours and 30 hours!

If your digital raffle ticket was selected for a grand prize, you will be contacted and asked to visit the Library to pick up your prize. All prizes must be picked up by August 9.

Let's get this party started!
