Get Ready for Summer of Stories 2026!
The 2026 Summer of Stories program runs June 1–August 1. You can’t log reading or missions yet, but you can sign up to receive program reminders. Be the first to know when logging opens and get tips to make the most of your summer reading!
What is Summer of Stories?
It is an annual community-wide reading program for all ages that encourages you to read, find community, and be curious!
Log your reading, complete community missions, and collect fun prizes.
How to Participate
Create an Account
Create your account online or in-person at either FCL location. Between June 1-August 1, sign into your account or visit us in person to log your reading hours and community missions.
Note: If you created an account in previous years, it is no longer active. You will need to create a new account.
Track Your Reading
Read 10 hours to finish the Summer of Stories reading goal! All kinds of reading count toward the goal:
- Someone reading out loud to you
- Listening to audiobooks
- Reading eBooks
Complete Community Missions
Explore and connect with your community with these fun summer activities!
Collect Reading Prizes
Once you reach each milestone, visit the Library to redeem your prize!
- Halfway Prize – Read 5 Hours | Choose a free book.
- Finisher Prize – Read 10 Hours | Choose a collector’s item.
- Bonus Reading Prize – Read 20 Hours | Choose a second collector’s item.
Grand Prize Lottery Drawings
You’ll earn points in your Summer of Stories account that can be redeemed for digital lottery tickets toward grand prizes.
At the end of the program, one winner will be drawn for each grand prize in each age group. Only one winner will be selected per prize. Digital lottery tickets must be redeemed through your online account to be included in the drawings. Participation does not guarantee winning a prize.
