Today, January 9, marks Library Director Kelley Siegrist’s last day at Farmington Community Library, concluding 34 years of service to our community.

During her four years as Library Director, Kelley led FCL through a period of thoughtful planning and meaningful progress.

Her leadership helped shape several major initiatives, including:

  • The 2023–2029 Strategic Plan, clarifying the Library’s mission and long-term goals
  • A Master Facilities Plan to guide future building renovations beginning in spring 2026
  • Making group meeting spaces free to reserve for Library cardholders
  • Expanding access through a mobile app and 24/7 hold pickup lockers
  • Prioritizing staff development and support to strengthen innovative, community-focused service

Kelley’s leadership consistently encouraged the Library to analyze, adapt, and innovate in order to better serve a rapidly changing community. While many of these initiatives were transformative, Kelley herself was rarely in the spotlight. Instead, she could often be found working one-on-one with patrons, community partners, and staff—ensuring people felt welcomed, heard, and supported.

Her dedication to service and her commitment to solving problems for anyone who walked through the Library’s doors exemplified the Library’s vision of growing a vibrant, connected community.

Thank you, Kelley, for your decades of service, your steady leadership, and your deep care for the Farmington Community Library and the people it serves. We wish you all the best in this next chapter!

We also look forward to continuing the Library’s mission under the leadership of our new Director, Sasha Matthews. Read more about Sasha.
